1. Medicare Set-Asides (MSA’s) with Nina Hamberger from Enhanced Life Options of New Hampshire and Vermont and Barb Helm from arcare

2. Charitable Funds with Kathy Vitello, Trust Service PLAN of Massachusetts and Rhode Island and Ellen Nalven, Executive Director of PLAN of New Jersey
  • How does your organization address retained funds in your pooled document?
  • In what ways do you typical utilize retained funds?
  • What options do we have in carving out the best uses for retained funds?

3. Community Residential Program: A Community Model Case Study with Dr Beth Rosenwasser
Beth will lead dialogue around JCHAI’s Residential Community Inclusion Independent Living Program. She intends to bring a guest with her who lives at the program for the discussion.

4. Best Practice for Using the True Link Card - Claire McDonald, Chief Operating Officer at True Link and Liz Kozloff, Executive Director of PLAN of AZ
Claire & Liz will partner to lead a round table on Developing Best Practices. Questions explored will include:
  • How are we evaluating those that are a good fit to use the True Link card? 
  • How do we resource the beneficiaries with the correct understanding about the card?
  • How do we evaluate their ongoing use of the card? 
 
5. Setting & managing expectations with the beneficiary and his or her support system with Nancy Dilliplane of PLAN of NJ Trust Services and Elizabeth Stier PLAN of PA Trust Services
Setting up the right expectations for beneficiaries and their families is key to starting a solid relationship. Often beneficiaries are misinformed about how the trust funds can be used, the process around evaluating a trust disbursement request or even that a request needs to be evaluated. This group will discuss best practices for setting things on the right foot with beneficiaries and their support systems as we onboard new trusts.
